My Background

After serving my apprenticeship as a fabricator/welder, I have built up more than 37 years of experience as a welder covering the oil & gas, petrochemical and nuclear industries. Processes utilised include ; MMA,TIG, GTAW, MIG, SMAW, SAW, GSFCAW, FCAW, STRIP CLADDING & Automatic cladding machines.

About M.I.L.

I have over 25 years experience within the cladding/overlaying sector, 21 years with one of the world leaders in the field. Starting as a welder, I then became a supervisor with the last 6 years as a cell controller. I have experience during my employment as the R & D technician, trying new gases, filler wires, and developing a new product called WEX pipe. This has now been patented by the company and is in use on several large oil & gas developments.

During the last 25 years I have been mainly involved in semi/automatic welding processes.

I have worked extensively all over the UK on various contracts as well as three long term assignments in France. Some of the other companies I have worked for on various contracts include: BP, Shell, Acergy, Exxonmobil, FMC, McDermott, Technip and Inneos (Grangemouth).

I am currently working with or have worked for the following agencies:- Moody International, Velosi (Europe), GLUK, NDE Germany, PPI Technologies (Houston), American Bureau of Shipping Consulting Ltd, ABSG (Consulting Ltd) Singapore and Morson International.

CSWIP Registered Senior Welding Inspector.

CSWIP QA Coordinator.

PCN Radiographic Interpretation, Light and Dense materials.

M.I.L. certificates

PCN UT Level 2 (3.1,3.2)

ISO 9001: 2000 Internal Auditor.

IOSH Managing Safely qualified.
