As well as these case studies, I have worked on a number of major projects recently. Some of these projects include, Thunderhorse, Block 18, Burullus and ESSO KTG. In addition, I have taken a number of advanced training courses to further improve my expertise.

PROJECT: AB 15 Gas Gathering, EPC3 – Block 15 Exxonmobil
Contracted through Moody International for ACERGY-FRANCE, SA. Based in Bel Valve, Newcastle. Product: 6”, 10” 12” & 18” HDA Valves, Ball Valves, Gate Valves. API 6A PR2 Qualification Testing. Visited all cladding/welding sites around the UK , carried out PIM & PPM in all companies. Witness all cladding, butt welding, radiography, NDT, heat treatment, mechanical testing, machining, painting. Attended Sheffield Forge Masters & MIS, Doncaster to witness the forging & mechanical testing of material. FAT witnessing of all valves.

PROJECT: 48”Production & Pipe to Pipe Hyperbaric Tie-In & 26” Hot Tap Tee
Contracted through Germanischer Lloyd( UK) for Burullus Gas Company. Main contractor on project was Technip. Full time Client Inspector based in Global Pipelines, Invergordon & National Hyperbaric Centre, Aberdeen. Product: Welder Qualifications for 48” pipe to pipe hyperbaric tie-in. Witness the welder qualifications for pipeline production welding. Witness the processes & procedures for the 26” Hot Tap Tee. Witnessed the welder qualification tests of UK, Malaysian, & Turkish welders in Global Pipelines of Invergordon. Witness all cladding, butt welding, radiography, NDT, heat treatment, mechanical testing, machining. Welder & WPS qualifications, NDT procedure qualifications.

PROJECT: Super Duplex Seperator vessel & Carbon steel Methanol vessel for Devenick Field
Contracted through Moody International / Intertek for Aker Solutions, Aberdeen. Full time Senior welding inspector based at Isleburn, Dunfermline. Witnessed WPS & Welder qualifications, all production welding, NDT, Radiographic Interpretation, pressure testing, data book review & sign off.

Case Study #2

PROJECT: B11 Re-Development Compression Project (Gas Turbine Compressor)
Contracted through Velosi Europe for Shell Sarawak Berhad. Full time Client Inspector based in Le Havre, France. I was head hunted by SSB as a result of my knowledge of Inconel cladding. Dresser Rand, the French contractors, had never welded, cladding or butt welding utilising this filler wire. I have over 25 years experience with the cladding. Product: Replacement Gas Turbine Compressor. Clad with Inconel 625. Visited various sub contract facilities within France, carried out PIM & PPM in all companies. Witness all cladding, butt welding, radiography, NDT, heat treatment, mechanical testing, machining. Welder & WPS qualifications, NDT procedure qualifications. Documentation books reviewed. RS & MIS, Doncaster to witness the forging & mechanical testing of material. FAT witnessing of all valves.

Case Study #4

PROJECT: 14” & 18” Duplex Induction Bends
Contracted through ABSG Consulting Ltd. Full time Client Inspector based in Proclad Induction Bending, Scotland for McDermott (Singapore). Product: Witness Induction Bending of 14” & 18” Duplex pipe. Witness all radiography, NDT, heat treatment, mechanical testing, machining & Induction bending, pickling & passivation. Carry out a full documentation book review.

Case Study #6

PROJECT: Two spooling towers & Carousels for Technip fleet
Contracted through Moody International / Intertek for Technip, Le Trait. Full time QA / Senior Welding Inspector working for Technip, Le Trait on the manufacturing and commissioning of two Spooling Towers & Carousels for Umbilical laying offshore. I resided full time in France for the contract duration travelling to various sub supply companies manufacturing parts for the final structures. Witnessed all welding, Heat treatment, NDT, Radiographic Interpretation & coating, documentation review & load out.
