CSWIP Senior Welding Inspector

M.I.L provide welding inspection, vendor and site inspections, 3rd party and client inspections. Our services extend to welding consultancy, welding procedure & welder qualification witness/approvals and we offer cladding/overlaying advice with site visits to help problem solve.

M.I.L. - History

M.I.L Inspection services was started in 2005. Working alongside client inspectors, I was constantly being asked if I knew of a welding inspector with cladding/overlaying experience. So, I decided to set up my own company - specialising in cladding/overlaying weld inspection as it was obvious that there was a gap in the market for this type of service.

I undertook the PCN ultrasonic course at the Adam Smith College, Kirkcaldy - as a client inspector witnessing UT testing on my various contracts I felt it was vital to have, as a minimum, the 3.1, 3.2 qualification. This has allowed me to have the confidence that when I witnessed NDT companies carrying out the UT testing I was qualified to comment on the results or methods used.

Future training developments for the company include undertaking Lead Auditor training and qualification with eventual IRCA registration. Dates are being looked at to find a suitable window to allow attendance at the course with QMI Scotland the training provider.

I am now a Registered CSWIP Senior Welding Inspector with two PCN qualifications in Radiographic Interpretation & UT Level 2 (3.1, 3.2) certificates.
